Ben 10: Alien Force – The Game

Hahaha awright! This game rocks! Ok,fanboyism aside.  Well,as any other review beginning, the game starts off with the group driving, and finding an alien signal,so ultimatelly they will follow it,as any ‘’superheroes” would do.The cinematics are in full 3D,which is interesting to watch, and are followed it with subtittles, and voices.

You find you’reself at an amusement park. You have 2 aliens available at the beginning, Big Chill and Swampfire. You can transform into them by pressing R,cycle when choosing which one you want to transform into by pressing Left,or Right, and defending by pressing L.

Square and Triangle are attacks, X is jumping, while O is a Special Attack.

The whole map is in 3D,same as Protector of Earth, along with matching voices for aliens and characters.

As first enemies you will have basic Forever Knights, which you can defeat with a simple 4-5 attack combo. It’s nice to play as new characters and aliens.

The game has 5 aliens in total:

  • Big Chill
  • SwampFire
  • Humungousaur
  • Spidermonkey
  • Jet Ray

While the DS version get’s 3 extra aliens:

  • Chromastone
  • Echo Echo
  • Goop

The animations are quick and fluid. Not counting the aliens, you also get the ”priviledge” to play as Gwen and Kevin (still getting to that part). After the first level is finished, you meet up with an old Plumber, from Four-arms planet, only fatter.Soon after a funny cinematic, and a little talk about the HighBreed, you team up with him. After the clip is over, you get a new alien form! Spidermonkey just got available!

The next level is in the Forest, the secret hiding place for the Forever Knights!

Spidermonkey isn;t your strongest form, but sure is fun to play. His Special Attack is…well…urm..i ‘m still trying to figure it out,but it looks like he’s either shooting something out of his butt,or his tail, not quite sure.Other then that, nothing is available. After you beat a certain amount of enemies he (or any other alien form you have) can get a special attack update.Like pressing Square and then Triangle,he dissapeares into the ground, and then jumping out of it dealing damage to enemies nearby, followed by some fire balls. The game is devided into several parts, like 6-7 episodes.Sounds like a small amount, but the levels are actually long and sometimes exausting,so it is bigger then i seems.

Jet Ray vs. DNAlien

Jet Ray vs. DNAlien

Gwen, well she isn’t the best fighter,or anything. Her attacks are weak, her Special Attack doesn’t deal any ”extra” damage, she just shoots two energy circles, but at the end her levels aren’t that huge.

Now on to the aliens.Every alien is different shape, size, and has different abilities,of course. For example,Spidermonkey can web-swing into curtain places, walk on walls, while Jet Ray can fly over great distances. Also, every alien has the same amount of extra attacks, which are mostly doable by the corresponding commands:

  1. Square,Triangle,Circle
  2. Square,Triangle
  3. Triangle,Square
  4. Triangle,Square,Circle
  5. Circle,Square,Triangle

I really can’t say anything bad about this game. It’s the same as it’s predecessor, only enhanced,The camera isn’t a problem,Playing as Humungousaur is fun,his size is just about right. If you get this game, you will have fun, even if you’re not a fan of the show.If you want to see

I ‘m not 100% sure, but the story is either follows the series,or is a bunch of episodes, since the last episode sounds familiar.

Basically, there isn’t much else to say.You will just have to find it out for yourself. As more as i play the game the more i will know (and update),and since the weekend start tomorrow,i will have a lot of time to play.

You can download the game by going to our ”New Releases” on the top menu.

Above is a video, showing the first level, you can search for more at YouTube.

That would be it.To see how to game ends you will either have to buy the game,or wait ’till it comes on YouTube.Next on the plan is the DS version, which is slightly different then the PSP,PS2 and Wii ones.

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows – Amazing Allies Edition!

31 10 2008

As promised,i played the PSP version of Web of Shadows for a couple of hours,so here are some of my thoughts.

On the first sight, the PSP version,is way better then the DS one.The DS is very limited as for power, and not to mention graphics, which is most of the times one of the most important factors.

Basically, this is a side scroller,a platformer. The story is same as in any version, after a bit,you finght the Venom, after that he explodes.A little while Nick Fury calls you and says that some meteors crashed on New York,or something like that.

The chat system is fun,you can always answer to the question with 3 answers. Each of those 3 will either give you,or take your respect, depending on which you choose, the Red one,the Black one,or the Neutral one.

Soon afterwards you have to fight the Shocker, after to sneak in a secret lab, find some material and fight the Rhino, and so on and on.

Both the PSP and the PS2 versions have ”Amazing Allies Edition” added to their tittle. This is no Friend or Foe,and the ”Ally” thing works a bit different.Every time you meet a character, fight him,or finish a level you get skills. You can equip those skills, and choose which one to activate (by pressing O) by cycling pressing L.

The whole ally attack basically calls in an,well ally,to destroy all of the enemy’s on the screen.

You can see which allies are in the game by looking at the post above.

I still don’t know anything about replay value, since i got the game yesterday,so it’s going to take me a few days to beat it,since people are saying it’s short.

I ‘m not encouraging you to do this but,the game (.iso) is just 202MB,so if you have custom firmware, the best way is to download it,and if you like it,buy it.

You will find people saying this game is bad,and so on and on,but they are wrong.Of course, Free-roam would’ve been better, but this is just as satisfying.

.::Spider-Man: Web of Shadows Exclusive Characters::.

Characters

As unfair as it is,the PSP and the PS2 versions get waay more exclusive charcters then any other platform…good thing my PSP has custom firmware,so i might review that version too….

Spider-Man: Web of Shadows!

26 10 2008

Wow,two reviews in a day,not too shabby.

Anywho,a new (another one) Spider-Man video game released, very recently. It’s tittled Web of Shadows.

On the beginning of the game, you find yourself fighting symbiote monsters, and are in need to investigate,so

Nothing special,at least not on the DS.

off to Eddie Brock Jr. for some information. The other is for me to know, and you to find out.

Web of Shadows DS

If you want a Spidey game, better go for the Friend or Foe,which released some time ago…

A side scroller,with good 3D graphics.

Basically,if you’ve played Friend or Foe,Ultimate Spider-Man or any other Spidey tittle on the DS,it’s basically the same.A side scroller,with good 3D graphics.Nothing new really,well,not for the DS that is.Don’t get me wrong,it’s a very nice game,with an interesting story,it’s just,been there,done that.If you are interested in a Spidey game,an semi-original one,go for Spider-Man: Friend or Foe,where you basically guide spidey along with a villain,any of a bunch (Venom,Dock Ock,Rhino,Scorpion…).

That’s it,for now.If you’re itching for some good action get the ‘’stable” console versions, like PS2,or next-gen.They are beautiful.

Jamie OliverDS

What’s Cooking?
Jamie Oliver is the first video game to feature Jamie and his delicious recipes. It’s available worldwide for Nintendo DS and will be available in English, French, German, Dutch, Italian and Spanish on the 24th of October.

I really want to get as many people as I can cooking simple, tasty food, so I’m really excited about bringing a book’s worth of my recipes to a game for the first time. You can cook my recipes for real at home or in the game’s 3D kitchens, but what’s brilliant is that you can come up with your own recipes then share them with your mates and family over Wi-Fi. Lovely.

Interactive cookbook
What’s Cooking? Jamie Oliver is a fun and interactive cooking game featuring a whole book’s worth of Jamie’s fantastic recipes, each accompanied by David Loftus’ beautiful photography. Follow the recipes in one of the virtual kitchens, or with real ingredients in your own home. A voice-recognition feature means your hands are free to concentrate on the cooking.

Mobile shopping list
Make shopping hassle-free with the brilliant shopping list function. Simply choose the recipes you want to make and the ingredients will automatically be added to your shopping list. Extra bits and pieces can easily be added by using the keypad or text recognition.

Cooking games
Cook against the clock in a series of exciting challenges that will have you chopping, stirring and baking your way to the top.

Creative cooking
Get creative with hundreds of ingredients and utensils, then store up to 100 of your own recipes to be recreated in the kitchen or shared with friends over Wi-Fi.

lol I never though i cooking game could be such fun! As you can see stated above, you have modes where you can either read recipes already integrated,or create them in the game,in an 3D kitchen. It’s like a book, but only in a more fun way,a video game. The game is filled with voices, ratings, recipes, you can even create your own shopping list. Some recipes will be a bit hard to realize, since the instructions are sometimes a bit confusing.
In order to get new recipes in the in-game kitchen, first you need to ”beat” or better to say ”cook” the first recipes you are given.Personally,i’ve never tried Cooking Mama, and probably never will, but this is totally satisfying in the terms of fun.
