Hahaha awright! This game rocks! Ok,fanboyism aside. Well,as any other review beginning, the game starts off with the group driving, and finding an alien signal,so ultimatelly they will follow it,as any ‘’superheroes” would do.The cinematics are in full 3D,which is interesting to watch, and are followed it with subtittles, and voices.
You find you’reself at an amusement park. You have 2 aliens available at the beginning, Big Chill and Swampfire. You can transform into them by pressing R,cycle when choosing which one you want to transform into by pressing Left,or Right, and defending by pressing L.
Square and Triangle are attacks, X is jumping, while O is a Special Attack.
The whole map is in 3D,same as Protector of Earth, along with matching voices for aliens and characters.
As first enemies you will have basic Forever Knights, which you can defeat with a simple 4-5 attack combo. It’s nice to play as new characters and aliens.
The game has 5 aliens in total:
- Big Chill
- SwampFire
- Humungousaur
- Spidermonkey
- Jet Ray
While the DS version get’s 3 extra aliens:
- Chromastone
- Echo Echo
- Goop
The animations are quick and fluid. Not counting the aliens, you also get the ”priviledge” to play as Gwen and Kevin (still getting to that part). After the first level is finished, you meet up with an old Plumber, from Four-arms planet, only fatter.Soon after a funny cinematic, and a little talk about the HighBreed, you team up with him. After the clip is over, you get a new alien form! Spidermonkey just got available!
The next level is in the Forest, the secret hiding place for the Forever Knights!
Spidermonkey isn;t your strongest form, but sure is fun to play. His Special Attack is…well…urm..i ‘m still trying to figure it out,but it looks like he’s either shooting something out of his butt,or his tail, not quite sure.Other then that, nothing is available. After you beat a certain amount of enemies he (or any other alien form you have) can get a special attack update.Like pressing Square and then Triangle,he dissapeares into the ground, and then jumping out of it dealing damage to enemies nearby, followed by some fire balls. The game is devided into several parts, like 6-7 episodes.Sounds like a small amount, but the levels are actually long and sometimes exausting,so it is bigger then i seems.
Gwen, well she isn’t the best fighter,or anything. Her attacks are weak, her Special Attack doesn’t deal any ”extra” damage, she just shoots two energy circles, but at the end her levels aren’t that huge.
Now on to the aliens.Every alien is different shape, size, and has different abilities,of course. For example,Spidermonkey can web-swing into curtain places, walk on walls, while Jet Ray can fly over great distances. Also, every alien has the same amount of extra attacks, which are mostly doable by the corresponding commands:
- Square,Triangle,Circle
- Square,Triangle
- Triangle,Square
- Triangle,Square,Circle
- Circle,Square,Triangle
I really can’t say anything bad about this game. It’s the same as it’s predecessor, only enhanced,The camera isn’t a problem,Playing as Humungousaur is fun,his size is just about right. If you get this game, you will have fun, even if you’re not a fan of the show.If you want to see
I ‘m not 100% sure, but the story is either follows the series,or is a bunch of episodes, since the last episode sounds familiar.
Basically, there isn’t much else to say.You will just have to find it out for yourself. As more as i play the game the more i will know (and update),and since the weekend start tomorrow,i will have a lot of time to play.
You can download the game by going to our ”New Releases” on the top menu.
Above is a video, showing the first level, you can search for more at YouTube.
That would be it.To see how to game ends you will either have to buy the game,or wait ’till it comes on YouTube.Next on the plan is the DS version, which is slightly different then the PSP,PS2 and Wii ones.
